1- الترجي التونسي في المركز الأول برصيد 6 نقاط وبفارق أهداف +2 عقب خوض مباراتين.

أعلن نادي آرسنال متصدر الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، عن رحيل أحد اللاعبين في الفريق الأول لكرة القدم على سبيل الإعارة حتى نهاية الموسم الحالي.

وأصدر آرسنال بيانًا رسميًا عن رحيل جناح الفريق، ماركينيوس، البالغ من العمر 19 عامًا إلى نورويتش سيتي حتى 30 يونيو بعد اتفاق بين الناديين في الساعات الماضية.

لقد خاض ماركينيوس 6 مباريات هذا الموسم مع آرسنال، سجل هدفًا وحيدًا في مرمى زيورخ خلال مرحلة دور المجموعات في بطولة الدوري الأوروبي وصنع هدفًا آخر.

It won’t be a team that won its domestic Twenty20 tournament. It will be an IPL team, but not the one that was being fancied at the start. It will either be a team that we thought would do well to win a match or a team that didn’t look like winning anything halfway through the tournament. It is this ability to surprise, and the compact format – the main draw lasts 16 days, features diverse teams, and five-team groups ensure tough contests for semi-final slots – that the Champions League has going for it.It helps that the eventual finalists – Royal Challengers Bangalore, who lost their first two matches, and Mumbai Indians, who lost half their side to injury and struggled to put an XI on the field – have history. Less than six months ago, led by Chris Gayle’s monstrous hitting – not too different from his exploits in Bangalore last night – the Royal Challengers beat MI in the semi-final of the IPL. Lasith Malinga, who has been winning MI games with both bat and ball in the Champions League, was there too, but was used apologetically, at first change, and Gayle worked around his four run-a-ball overs.Six months is a long time in modern cricket. Neither team looks as assured as it did back then; both have gone a step further in this tournament, now fighting for the biggest financial award in current non-international cricket. Relaid, it has often been slow and two-paced. The Royal Challengers haven’t played a game here while MI have registered two of their wins at the venue of the final. This unfamiliarity with the conditions should offset the edge given to Royal Challengers through cricket’s inherent bias: Malinga can bowl but four overs.Watch out for …Malinga v Gayle, Dilshan and Kohli. MI will have to win this particular contest comprehensively if they have to win the Champions League. Royal Challengers will happily take four overs for 24 runs and no wickets. Will they continue to be restricting men or will they attack? As captains they have made glaring errors in this tournament, but both are coming off inspirational and eventually decisive moves in the semi-finals. New Zealand had folded for 110 in the second innings of the first Test in Hamilton and lost by ten wickets.”We’ve got to try and get that top order functioning better,” Wright said. “Whatever we plan, and they’re pretty simple plans, we’ve got to be disciplined enough to get the job done.”There’s no excuses. We don’t need any explanations, if you’re picked as a batter your job is to get runs. It’s about occupying the crease and not giving your wicket away, it’s not rocket science.”New Zealand’s batting flopped on an almost subcontinental track in the first Test at Seddon Park, which was slow with not much bounce on offer. They will now have to get their act together on a Basin Reserve pitch that is expected to assist the seamers. “It looks pretty grassy,” Wright said of the pitch for the second Test. “We wouldn’t mind more sideways and bounce, it’s good for us.”One change New Zealand are contemplating is bringing in allrounder James Franklin for opener Tim McIntosh, who has six single-digit scores in his previous eight Test innings. “I think whenever you get a player like James in terms of the all-round package it’s a real advantage so you always try to fit that type of player in the team,” the New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori said. “With the likes of Jesse Ryder not bowling and Kane (Williamson) not bowling as well as we would have liked in the last test, then the addition of an allrounder could be beneficial, but we will find out later on.”Franklin hasn’t played a Test in nearly two years but has turned in strong performances on the domestic circuit and in limited-overs for New Zealand.

Manchester City have seen numerous players join the club since Pep Guardiola was appointed as their manager back in 2016.

One of Guardiola’s earliest recruits for the Manchester club was midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who joined the side from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £20m in the summer of 2016.

Since then, the German has gone on to make 249 appearances in a City shirt across all competitions.

In those appearances, the midfielder has scored 47 goals and delivered 33 assists along the way.

To further highlight how prominent the World Cup winner has been for City over the past few years, only Raheem Sterling (288) and Kevin De Bruyne (260) have made more appearances for the club under Guardiola than Gundogan (248).

With the 31-year-old’s current contract at the Etihad Stadium set to expire in the summer of 2023, the midfielder has already spoken about his potential next career step, with a move to America or Turkey in mind.

Taking this into account, the upcoming summer transfer window could give the Citizens an ideal opportunity to bring in a potential long-term replacement for their German midfield star.

Having been recently linked with a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, he could well be the right figure to come in and fill Gundogan’s boots once he calls time on his spell with City.

Since joining the Spanish club back in 2019 from Ajax for a fee of £65m, the Dutchman has gone on to make 137 appearances, scoring 13 goals and delivering 17 assists in the process.

Labelled as a “dynamic” player in the past by his current manager Xavi, the La Liga giants have reportedly put a price tag of £58m on their midfield talent.

To compare him with Gundogan from their individual domestic seasons, while De Jong may not have as many attempts on goal as the City star, he has a higher percentage of shots on target (41.2%) than him (31.9%), meaning he is more clinical in front of goal.

In terms of his passing, the Dutchman also trumps Gundogan with a higher percentage of passes completed.

While De Jong has five more league games under his belt than the German, from a defensive point of view, he’s made more tackles, pressures, blocks, interceptions and clearances this term.

Taking all of this into account, not only could City and Guardiola find their ideal heir for Gundogan with the 24-year-old, but they may also blow the Etihad faithful away by securing the Barcelona star’s signature this summer.

Ian Buxton, the former Derbyshire captain, has died aged 72 at his home in the Derbyshire town of Matlock.In 15 season at Derbyshire he played 350 first-class matches making 11,803 runs at 23.94 as a middle-order batsman. He also captured 483 first-class wickets at 26.38, including 12 five-wicket hauls, with his medium-pace bowling.One of the highlights of his career was when he took 11 wickets in a day to inflict a defeat on Worcestershire in 1968. He was county captain between 1970 and 1972.Buxton was one of the last of those who was able to play professional football as well as cricket, enjoying spells with Derby County, Luton Town and Notts County before joining Port Vale in 1969 and was a regular throughout the rest of the club’s 1969-70 Fourth Division promotion-winning campaign. The club paid the £500 registration fee to sign him permanently, in the knowledge that his cricket commitments meant he would miss the last four games anyway.

The required run-rate, never a threatening proposition in the first place, fell under six in the 14th over.Theron, with his efforts at the top and the end of the innings, provided the game-changing moments, reducing Wayamba to 2 for 2 and then ensuring only 43 came off the last six overs. Jeevantha Kulatunga, Wayamba’s hard-hitting journeyman opener, counterattacked, scoring 49 off his team’s first 69 runs, but missed support from the other end and the innings failed to get a fillip after he got out for 59, in the 15th over.Warriors didn’t need any solo heroics in the chase as Davey Jacobs, Colin Ingram, Justin Kreusch and Mark Boucher all made contributions.
