أعلنت رابطة الأندية المصري المحترفة لكرة القدم موعد إجراء قرعة بطولة كأس الرابطة التي تشهد مشاركة جميع الأندية المشاركة في منافسات دوري المحترفين.

وأوضحت الرابطة في بيان رسمي أنها حددت يوم الأربعاء الموافق 9 نوفمبر الحالي لإقامة كرة البطولة وأرسلت خطابًا رسميًا لكافة الأندية المشاركة في الدوري التمهيدي للبطولة.

ومن المقرر أن تقام مباريات البطولة بداية من يوم 19 من الشهرالحالي.

وأجرت الرابطة تعديلًا على نظام البطولة، إذ أنه سيتم خروج الفريق الخاسر من الدور التمهيدي.

وكانت البطولة في الموسم الماضي قد أقيم الدور التمهيدي فيها بنظام المجموعات.

يذكر أن نادي فيوتشر قد نجح في التتويج ببطولة كأس الرابطة في نسختها الأولى بالموسم الماضي.

The concept of two-innings one-day cricket, which Cricket Australia will trial next season, has been viewed with cautious optimism by two of the county second XI coaches in England who have had first-hand experience this year, but with concern voiced that matches can be decided very early.Leicestershire and Sussex have both reached the semi-final stage of the knockout competition where the split innings are being used in the 40-over matches. Phil Whitticase, who is in charge of Leicestershire’s second team, has experienced both ends of the spectrum in the matches he has been involved in.”I think the jury is still out, in the two games we’ve played I’ve seen both sides of it,” he told Cricinfo. “In the first we had Northamptonshire 76 for 6 after 20 overs and it meant we could play very steady cricket and won the game. I called it second-gear cricket, which isn’t want you want.”But in the second, against Surrey on a very good pitch, we won a good chase off the penultimate ball and it was a close game throughout. It certainly seemed to have more merit after that second game, but the feedback we have got is that some games could be over by three o’clock.”Some of the supporters who watched the Surrey game said it was a bit hard to follow with too much chopping and changing but I think that is something they could get used to.”Mark Davis, the Sussex second XI coach, also said there was a danger of matches being decided very early but believed the format was worth further discussion because of the increased tactical element it involves.”One issue I have had is that if a team performs badly in the first 20 overs the game can be as good as over and it isn’t much of spectacle which can become a bit boring,” he told Cricinfo. “First up people were quite sceptical and negative about it, much like they were at the start of Twenty20 cricket, but the two games we have played have been quite interesting and different to be involved in.””It’s a very tactical format, which makes it a good test for the captains and coaches who have to be able to think on their feet and adjust strategies depending on the situations. Davis remembered his experiences of playing domestic cricket in South Africa where batting under lights can become a hazard.”It would certainly even up the contest under lights,” he said. “I remember playing in South Africa, at places like Centurion and Durban, where you could basically win the toss and win the match because one team had 50 overs when the ball was zipping around all over the place. Split innings would certainly help balance that out.”Whitticase, meanwhile, has experienced what splitting an innings can do for a batsman who is in full flow when the first 20 overs ends. “We had a young guy on 48 in the first game and then he had stop and field for 20 overs,” he said. “He then needed to play himself in again and although he got fifty he said he didn’t feel as though he’d really earned it.”Angus Porter, the chief executive of the Professional Cricketers’ Association, suggested it would be quite a while until the format was considered for first team cricket in England.”I think it’s highly unlikely that the version we are playing in the second XI this year will get transferred across to the first XI competition,” he told the . “Players are enjoying it but what I think they are saying is ‘we’re not quite sure exactly where this particular experiment is taking us’.”The initial feedback from that experiment is that everyone is up for trying new things but that this one doesn’t actually seem to improve the game from a playing or a spectator point of view.”

Leeds United regular Stuart Dallas looks set for a spell on the sidelines after being substituted in the early exchanges of the 3-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday.

What’s that latest?

The Northern Irishman was on the pitch at Goodison Park for just nine minutes before having to be withdrawn after the 30-year-old had hurt himself in a collision with Everton’s Alex Iwobi.

Dallas attempted to play on but ultimately had to come off just a minute before the Toffees opened the scoring through Seamus Coleman on an afternoon that the Yorkshire club will want to forget.

Speaking to LUTV after the match, Leeds winger Daniel James said that the injury to his teammate was “a major blow” before adding: “Stuey’s a great player and he plays all over the pitch. Hopefully he’s not out for too long.”

Bielsa will be furious

To lose any player is always a blow, but the prospect of being without Dallas for forthcoming matches will particularly annoy Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa.

The 30-year-old has started every Premier League game for the Whites this season, with the only minutes missed before Saturday coming in the 1-0 win over Watford where the Northern Ireland international was withdrawn in the 78th minute.

Currently, there is little indication as to how serious Dallas’ injury is and how long he will be sidelined, but there is no doubt that everyone involved with Leeds United will be hoping that the situation isn’t serious.

Aside from being an ever-present in the current campaign, the 30-year-old is incredibly flexible when it comes to positioning, having played at left-back, right-back and central midfield this season, with the last three games seeing him line out at left-back.

In terms of backup options in that role, Junior Firpo is the only senior alternative, with the Spaniard making 17 appearances so far since his move from Barcelona last summer.

The 30-year-old has also been the Whites’ third-best player this term according to WhoScored performance metrics, winning more tackles per game (2.7) than any of his team-mates, which lays bare just how crucial he is to the side.

Granted, neither Leeds nor Dallas have matched the standard set last season as the Yorkshire outfit finished ninth in the top flight, with the Northern Irishman scoring eight goals and registering two assists as he started all 38 Premier League matches.

As for this campaign, Bielsa’s side are 15th and lay just six points clear of the relegation zone, with Dallas scoring just one goal and setting up one more in 23 league appearances.

With the Whites still very much in the relegation picture, Bielsa will require the services of all his senior players as Leeds search for the results which will carry them away from danger. The possibility of being without perhaps their most reliable servant in Dallas for a sustained period of time duly comes as a big blow, particularly given the team’s current predicament.

Everton fell to a hugely disappointing defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday night, with the Toffees now desperately looking over their shoulders in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard’s side came into the game following a positive end to the January transfer window that saw the likes of Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek arrive from Tottenham and Manchester United respectively.

And while the duo both ended up featuring off the bench due to injuries to a couple of Everton’s starting players, it was a man who’s been at the club for a very long time who arguably let Lampard down the most: Jordan Pickford.

The England international walked onto the pitch to a large chorus of boos from the home fans given his previous Sunderland connection, and it was no surprise that every time he touched the ball he received loud jeers.

It was the kind of cauldron-like atmosphere that can really test players, and Pickford just seemed to crumble under that pressure, with his usually strong and reliable kicking game deserting him completely.

As per Sofascore, he lost possession 15 times over the course of the game, the joint-third most of any Everton player on the pitch, with his pass accuracy of 40% by far the lowest of any Toffee.

And it wasn’t just his distribution that went hay-wire, with his ability to deal with crosses again coming under the spotlight – one moment saw him clatter into Jarrad Branthwaite and left the young Evertonian needing attention.

That shakiness was picked up on by The Liverpool Echo’s Adam Jones, who tweeted: “#EFC couldn’t look more nervy I don’t think, typified by some dreadful mis-kicks from Pickford and Branthwaite”

And, writing in his post-match player ratings, Jones gave him a four, adding: “Made a great save to deny Joelinton to keep the scores at 0-0 in the first half but his performance was shaky throughout both in terms of commanding his area and with the ball at his feet.”

In a tense atmosphere, Lampard needed his senior players, like Pickford, to really step up and be counted and not get lost in the emotion of it all.

Instead, his goalkeeper just seemed to fall into the trap of losing his head in front of a vociferous St James’ Park.

Indeed, after being hooked by Moyes at half time following what some believed to be a ‘shambles’ display, journalists and celebrity West Ham figures alike all agreed this wasn’t the Englishman’s best day.

The Verdict: Correct

The numbers certainly suggest Fredericks had an off day.

According to SofaScore, the 29-year-old ranked in as one of West Ham’s worst-performing players on the day with a 6.3/10 and only completed 50% of his passes.

He also found success with none of his attempted crosses into the box and cut a largely ineffective figure in both an attacking and defending sense, leaving little wonder members of the media weren’t impressed.
