Moise Kean has had a slow but steady start to life in England with Everton since his summer move.

The Toffees parted with an initial £29m to bring the Italy international to Goodison Park from Juventus, but he has been handed just two Premier League starts by Marco Silva as he slowly adapts to his new surroundings.

However, his life could have been made a little bit easier if Silva had subbed him on in an appropriate position against Manchester City…

The Merseysiders had just gone 2-1 down after Riyad Mahrez struck a brilliant free-kick before Kean’s introduction in the 74th-minute.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Dominic Calvert-Lewin had the scoreline level at one apiece before the Algerian’s strike, but the youngster was not given the greatest opportunity to find an equaliser for his side due to Silva’s baffling use of the teenager.

A goal from Raheem Sterling 10 minutes after Kean’s introduction sealed the points for City, but the Italian can only be left thinking ‘what if’ had Silva subbed him on in a different position.

Baffling to put him on the right

Why did Silva sub Kean on to play as a right forward?

According to his appearances recorded by Transfermarkt during his career, the 19-year-old didn’t make a single appearance in that position for Juventus last season, nor did he play there in the campaign before that one – the right is not an area that Kean has become too familiar with in his short career so far.

By that logic, it would be a strange decision to sub him on even against a club like Watford, let alone against the back-to-back Premier League champions who won a domestic treble last term.

Silva gave Kean little chance to influence the game by playing him on the right, and his ineffectiveness was evident in the youngster’s statistics.

He failed to have a single shot on goal in his 16 minutes on the pitch, nor did he manage to make a key pass or embark on a dribble – in fact, the forward only mustered up one pass in total during his time on the field, and even that wasn’t a successful one.

Silva got it all wrong with his baffling use of Kean.

وأوضحت أن ذلك الفريق هو إشبيلية، حيث يرغب النادي الأندلسي في الحصول على خدمات ثنائي ليفربول.

وأشارت إلى أن سعر بيع شاكيري لن يكون مشكلة بالنسبة لـ إشبيلية، والذي قد يصل إلى 15 مليون يورو.

ولكن من جهة أخرى، قد يكون راتب شاكيري عائقًا أمام إشبيلية، حيث يحصل على 4 ملايين يورو سنويًا.

وقد يحل إشبيلية تلك المعضلة عن طريق بيع نجمه يوسف النصيري في الميركاتو نفسه، حيث يمتلك شرطًا جزائيًا في عقده الحالي 60 مليون يورو.

أما مينامينو، فيصل سعر بيعه إلى 10 ملايين يورو.

Lots of Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was revealed that Gary Cahill had won the club’s Player of the Month award for September.

The 61-cap England international played every minute of the action last month, helping the Eagles pick up four points from games against Tottenham, Wolves and Norwich, keeping one clean sheet in the process.

Palace were moments away from making that two, although conceded a 95th minute equaliser against Wolves.

Cahill has shone since signing on a free transfer after leaving Chelsea, helping Palace take 11 points from their first seven games, just one point off 4th-place Arsenal – does a Champions League spot beckon for the south Londoners?

Probably not.

Nevertheless, Cahill has been brilliant and he deserves the award.

One fan doesn’t agree, however, saying that Vicente Guaita was “robbed”, although the rest of the responses are kinder to the 33-year-old.

West Brom have entered the international break sitting top of the Championship table as their new-look side has taken the league by storm.

It wasn’t too long ago that the Baggies were left reeling from playoff defeat, going into the summer without a manager and with a rather uncertain future.

But Slaven Bilic has since come in and turned things around by building an exciting young squad that at one stage was the league’s only unbeaten side.

The Croatian will take most of the plaudits for doing so, being the manager and all that, but those around him should certainly be recognised too.

His right-hand man is relatively unknown, especially alongside West Ham legend Julian Dicks, although he is probably the most influential member of backroom staff next to Bilic himself.

Danilo Butorovic is his name – he’s the guy with the iPad and an earpiece in on the substitutes bench each game.

The 35-year-old has had dreams of being a football coach since the age of 14 and now holds a UEFA Pro licence, which is the highest coaching accolade one can achieve.

He is widely regarded as an expert in data analysis and computer programmes and has followed Bilic ever since their first meeting in east London.

The pair were together over in Saudi Arabia for a brief spell at Al-Ittihad and are now working up a treat at the Hawthorns.

It is the use of technology that has assisted many critical decisions before a match, but also during it too.

Butorovic has described how it all works in a recent interview with Express & Star, he said:

“Very often I see something during the game which is interesting, or the guys [the analysts] upstairs see something.

“They send it down to the iPad and I see it. Most of the time, because I’ve been doing it for quite a while now, I can see stuff.

“Whenever I see something, I’ll come up to Slaven and just tell him that I think it’s important.”

One instance of this could be seen in Grady Diangana’s impact on two occasions.

Against Luton Town on debut, the 21-year-old single-handedly won them the game after coming on as a half-time substitute to score twice.

Then in Albion’s match versus Huddersfield Town, Diangana repeated his exploits but with two assists instead.

These sorts of decisions would have been made with the assistance of technology, which has been brought to the club by Butorovic.

Therefore, it would be reasonable to suggest that it is playing a considerable part towards them being top of the league.

وأضاف: “كل ما أفكر فيه دائمًا هو أن أعطي وأبذل قصارى جهدي دائمًا من أجل بلدي، هذا لن يتغير أبدًا، لكن هناك لحظات صعبة للتغلب عليها، خاصة عندما نشعر بأن بلد بأكملها قد تضررت، لكن يجب أن تكون رؤوسنا مرفوعة ونستعد للتحدي القادم، هيا يا برتغال!”.

الجدير بالذكر أن المباراة قد انتهت بالتعادل الإيجابي بين البرتغال وصربيا بنتيجة 2-2، وهو ما منح الصدارة بفارق الأهداف لصالح الأخير برصيد 4 نقاط بالتساوي مع البرتغال.

يوافق خورخي فالدانو، مدرب ريال مدريد ولاعبه السابق، على إمكانية التعاقد مع كيليان مبابي لاعب باريس سان جيرمان، بدلًا من فينيسيوس.

مبابي يعد هدفًا لـ ريال مدريد منذ الصيف الماضي، وانتشرت تقارير حول صفقة تبادلية مع فينيسيوس جونيور بالإضافة لمبلغ مالي إلى باريس سان جيرمان، للحصول على خدمات النجم الفرنسي.

وأشاد فالدانو بـ فاسكيز وناتشو: “هناك لاعبون لا يقدرون بثمن، لوكاس وناتشو من بينهم، يمتلكان شخصية كبيرة، ولا غنى عنهما في ريال مدريد”.

واختتم بالحديث عن أسينسيو: “ماركو لا يقدر عليه أحد، يدخل إلى منطقة الجزاء بسلاسة ولديه مرونة رائعة في الجانب الهجومي بمختلف الأدوار”.

Former Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has claimed that club-record signing Wesley can build on his goalscoring performance last time out.

What’s he said?

Just before the international break, Aston Villa managed to pick up only their second win of this Premier League campaign with a dominant 5-1 victory over Norwich City.

Wesley doubled his tally for the season by scoring a first-half brace, but it could have easily been a hat-trick as the 22-year-old saw his penalty saved by the Canaries’ goalkeeper.

This has led to Hutton claiming he could do better, but he also believes Wesley is able to do precisely that with momentum now on his side.

Speaking to Football Insider, the 34-year-old said:

“He’s come from a different league into the Premier League and it’s arguably the toughest division in the world, so it’s going to take him time to settle down.

“He’s scored a few goals now, I think in the game against Norwich, he did well, in spells, he got a few goals, obviously he could do better, but he’s there to score goals and that’s what he has done.

“Hopefully his confidence will be high and he can build on that and enjoy his football.”

Patience

Wesley was always going to be put under the microscope after costing the west Midlands club £22m, but it would be unfair to judge him this early, considering it is only October.

As Hutton says, it is the first time he has played in a country and league as good as the Premier League, so the 6 foot 3 colossus understandably needed a little patience to help ease him into his new surroundings.

It’s not been helped by the lack of options supporting him as he’s been the only fit senior striker for the most part.

However, four goals in eight games is pretty good going – and as highlighted here, he’s doing a lot better than some of the other new arrivals to the English top-flight.

He’s now netted three goals in as many matches, so maybe that has set a foundation for him to kick on for the rest of the season.

Arsenal fans were blown away by William Saliba’s commanding performance for Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 over the weekend.

The defender, who was signed by the Gunners in a £27m deal in the summer, only to be loaned back to the French club, has made two starts in the French top-flight thus far this season.

His second came on Sunday, as Saint-Etienne beat Bordeaux 1-0 thanks to a 92nd-minute goal from Denis Bouanga.

Per WhoScored, the 18-year-old, who was also linked with Tottenham Hotspur prior to agreeing a deal to join the Gunners, had 50 touches of the ball throughout the game, winning three aerial duels and one tackle, while also making three interceptions and two clearances.

Arsenal fans were impressed with his display and a number of fans are now counting down the time towards his return to north London at the end of the season.
