علّق بيب جوارديولا مدرب فريق مانشستر سيتي على فوزهم أمام فولهام، اليوم السبت، في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وفاز السكاي بلو بهدفين دون رد، في الجولة الحادية عشر في ملعب الاتحاد.

وقال جوارديولا، في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “بي بي سي” العالمية: “من المهم أن نحقق سلسلة من النقاط، بالنسبة للفرص التي سنحت لنا، نعم كان يجب أن نسجل المزيد، لكن الأمر نفسه كان أمام بورتو”.

وأضاف: “من المهم أن نفوز وأن المدافعين لا يرتكبوا أخطاءً ولا نمنحهم أهدافًا”.

وواصل: “نحن نعرف جودة دي بروين على صعيد الأهداف والتمريرات الحاسمة، إنه مهم جدًا بالنسبة لنا، انظر فقط إلى طريقة ركضه وقتاله اليوم”.

وتابع: “من المهم أن تفوز بالمباريات وأن تكون الشباك نظيفة، هذا أمر جيد، خاصة بالنظر إلى مقدار الفرص التي صنعناها مرة أخرى، الناحية البدنية لدى فولهام رائعة، سكوت باركر لديه دائمًا شيء صعب، لقد قدم أداءً جيدًا أمام ليستر”.

واستكمل: ” هذا الموسم يبدو أنه سيكون هناك الكثير من الفرق المتنافسة، الآن يمكن للجميع أن يفوز على أي شخص، هذا هو سبب أهمية الفوز، وألا نتعرض للإصابات، سنتحسن”.

واستمر: “عانينا في بداية الموسم لأسباب عديدة، الآن لدينا أربع مباريات وأربع شباك نظيفة، من المهم للغاية بالنسبة لنا أن نحافظ على ذلك، يتعين علينا تحسين مسألة إنهاء الهجمات، ولكن كذلك علينا الاستمرار في خلق الفرص”.

واختتم: “في هذا الشهر كان من المهم التأهل إلى دور الـ16 بدوري أبطال أوروبا، والآن نركز على الدوري الإنجليزي، سيكون موسمًا طويلًا”.

Since Ralph Hasenhuttl took the reins at St. Mary’s, what has impressed Southampton supporters most?

For some fans, it will undoubtedly be the improvement of the style of football. For others, they will be delighted with how the Austrian has revived certain players.

Former Southampton man Nicky Banger, though, cannot help but feel pleased with the younger players Hasenhuttl has started to integrate into the first team.

“I think that shows the mark of the manager,” Banger told the Daily Echo when speaking about Hasenhuttl’s willingness to ignore age when picking his starting XI. “He has given players the opportunity.”

And among those players include Yan Valery and Josh Sims, who have rarely let the former RB Leipzig boss down when called upon.

The former, in particular, has really impressed and has since gone on to nail down that right-back/right wing-back spot in the Saints’ starting XI.

The French youngster is now on course to becoming one of the leading right-backs in the Premier League and he has Hasenhuttl to thank.

That sort of youth development and with the talent Southampton’s academy is capable of producing, Hasenhuttl really could be the man to usher in a new era at St. Mary’s after a couple of disappointing years on the south coast.

If he’s given a decent-sized transfer budget, all the ingredients are definitely there for the 51-year-old as he looks to bring some permanent smiles back to the faces of the Southampton faithful.

Arsenal are stepping up their transfer interest in Celtic defender Kieran Tierney, according to The Daily Mail.

What’s the story?

The Celtic left-back has struggled with fitness and injury issues over the last 12 months, and has only recently returned to training after an operation, but it seems that is not putting off any potential suitors.

The Mail say Gunners boss Unai Emery has made the 22-year-old his top left-back target, convinced that he can make the step up from the Scottish Premiership to the English Premier League.

The paper reckon a deal comparable to the £20m that ensured Moussa Dembele’s exit to Lyon would be needed to sign the Scotland international, but that Emery sees that kind of fee as a “shrewd investment”.

The interest is so strong that a bid could even be tabled over the coming days, states the report.

Too important to Celtic

That Emery is reportedly so interested in Tierney is likely a worry for some Celtic fans, with Tierney already becoming something of a club icon in his short career so far.

When figures approaching £20m are mentioned regarding Hoops players there is always a strong business case to entertain a potential transfer.

That would be Celtic’s record fee for a homegrown player if it went through and in some manner could be celebrated as a sign that the club are getting their youth development model spot on.

Right now though, the defender is just too important to the club’s immediate ambitions.

New manager Neil Lennon is gearing up for a league campaign that could deliver a massive ninth title in a row, which would be used as a springboard towards a Scottish record breaking tenth the following season.

The chance to make that kind of history is once in a lifetime and selling one of the club’s best players would be a serious blow in their attempts to achieve that goal.

With his contract not expiring until 2023, there is absolutely no rush to sell and it’s unlikely that the player’s value will depreciate anytime soon.

In fact, with his fitness issues potentially behind him, he could reach top form again next season domestically and in Europe and further enhance his reputation, increasing his value even more.

وتابع: “بعدها تواصل معي شخصان وقدما لي عرضا خارجيا، فأبلغتهما بتوقيعي للأهلي، ثم أبلغتهم بأنني سأفكر حتى اليوم التالي، بعدها اتصلت بـ عصام سراج ولم يرد عليّ أكثر من مرة، ثم بدأت أتجه نحو عرض العين وذهبت هناك ولعبت أول مباراة مع العين في نفس يوم مباراة الأهلي والمصري في السوبر بالإمارات، ولم يتواصل معي أحد من الأهلي بعدها ورغم ذلك كان حلم التواجد في الأهلي أمامي لم ينته”.

وتابع: “عندما انتقلت للأهلي كانت نصب عيني الأميرة السمراء، بطولة غائبة وكان هدفي تحقيقها، أنا أهلاوي منذ الصغر، وعندما كنت لاعبا في المقاصة كنت أذهب لأشجع الأهلي”.

وأتم: “مباراة نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا بالنسبة لي للنسيان لأنني لم أكن في مستواي بشكل عام”.

وكان الشحات قد شارك في فوز الأهلي بدوري أبطال افريقيا على حساب الزمالك في مباراة الدور النهائي التي أقيمت على ملعب استاد القاهرة الدولي.

أعلن الجهاز الفني لمنتخب مصر لكرة اليد قائمة مباراة اليوم أمام السويد، في اللقاء الذي يجمع الفريقين في الجولة الثالثة من بطولة كأس العالم لكرة اليد 2021.

وتستضيف مصر بطولة كأس العالم لكرة اليد في نسختها الـ27، والتي ستنتهي يوم 31 يناير الجاري.

One quick-fire way to assert yourself as a fan favourite at Anfield is to score against Manchester United, and Firmino did just that with the help of Adam Lallana, who struck up a good relationship with the new recruit during his maiden campaign.

A statement of intent

The Red Devils’ transfer strategy in recent seasons has been notoriously clear-cut. The best of the best at whatever the price. As The Telegraph asserts, United have steered clear of getting involved in bidding wars for scholarship-aged players across the continent and instead focused on trying to scout British youth talent.

The last star United signed comparable to Cherki’s profile was Tahith Chong; the floppy-haired 19-year-old Dutchman who signed three seasons ago from Feyernoord. Since his arrival at Old Trafford though, Chong has made just the four first-team appearances. Cherki on the other hand could be on course for a quicker path to first-team action.

Despite being 15, the Frenchman already plays for Lyon’s U19s. In September of last year, he became the youngest goalscorer in the UEFA Youth League – the academy equivalent of the Champions League – when he scored against Manchester City.

At international level, Cherki has been capped twice by the France U16s and at such a tender age is exactly the kind of profile United should be targeting. Young with bags of potential and likely to cost a minimal fee.

Indeed, in just 260 minutes of UEFA Youth League football, Cherki showed an eye for goal with 14 attempts and was seemingly dangerous enough for him to be fouled seven times; an evident sign of a forward-thinking midfielder wanting to be proactive with his work on the ball.

Signing the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba might well have done well on the merchandise stands but on the pitch it has barely come to fruition. Muscling out competition from teams like Madrid and Barcelona to the signing of a 15-year-old might just be the statement United need in this new era.

كشفت تقارير صحفية ألمانية، عن مفاجأة كبيرة، بشأن المدير الفني لنادي بايرن ميونخ الألماني هانزي فليك، ومستقبله مع العملاق البافاري.
