Atletico Madrid defensive midfielder Thomas Partey has refused to rule out a move away from the Spanish capital with Arsenal said to be keen, according to Goal.

What’s the word?

After initially joining Atletico’s youth system in 2012, Thomas excelled on loan at Real Mallorca and Almeria before returning to Madrid in 2015.

The 2017/2018 season saw Thomas break into Diego Simeone’s side before he made 32 La Liga appearances this season as a crucial component of the La Liga runners-up.

With a €50m (£44m) minimum release clause, Atletico will be powerless to stop the midfielder’s departure as numerous sides circle.

Get it done

There are many reasons why Arsenal might not back up their interest in Thomas with a concrete offer.

With a projected budget of just £40m, should the Gunners miss out on Champions League football, Thomas might be seen as a superfluous expenditure, especially considering the presence of Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, and Matteo Guendouzi already in his position.

However, Arsenal should ignore these reasons and do everything in their power to bring in the influential Atletico number five.

Since the departure of Patrick Vieira, Arsenal have struggled to assert themselves in midfield battles and despite the signing of Torreira last summer, that trend didn’t noticeably change as the Gunners were torn asunder by counter-attacking sides late in the season.

Xhaka and Guendouzi are both talented players, with the latter especially having room for improvement, but neither is likely to reach the heights of Thomas or offer the same array of skills.

Guendouzi lacks the discipline of an elite center-midfielder while also missing the ability to drive past opposition players. Xhaka is a terrific passer of the ball, but also lacks discipline and tends to go missing for large periods of time.

Thomas is an ultimate all-action midfielder. He can tackle, dribble, and shoot, and is known for his discipline and concentration, no doubt aided by his Simeone education.

The 25-year old is still relatively young and inexperienced in football terms, but he has already displayed elite talent flashes and the drive to improve.

With a base of Torreira and Thomas, Arsenal could finally control the midfield, allowing the Gunners attacking players including Mesut Ozil, the freedom to excel. For £44m in the current market, Thomas is a worthwhile risk as someone who could genuinely help establish Arsenal as a dominant force in English football again.

وأضاف: “من بين محترفي كرة القدم نعرف جيدًا ما هو هذا، هناك رموز لا تعرفها، كريم وأنا لسنا فقط زملاء في نفس الفريق نحن محترفون، علاقتي بكريم ممتازة”.

علّق، مانويل نوير، حارس مرمى فريق بايرن ميونخ، على تعثر فريقه أمام فيردر بريمن في البوندزليجا.

التعادل الإيجابي بهدف لمثله، حسم مباراة بايرن ميونخ وبريمن، التي أقيمت اليوم السبت، على ملعب “أليانز أرينا”، ضمن لقاءات الجولة الثامنة من الدوري الألماني.

وقال نوير في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الرسمي لناديه: “إنهاء الشوط الأول ونحن مُتأخرين في النتيجة بهدف نظيف، كان نقطة التحول في المباراة”.

وأضاف: “كان يجب علينا أنّ نقاتل أكثر ونحاول خلق فرص أكثر، ولكننا لم نلعب كما ينبغي ولم نقدم أفضل ما لدينا”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “لقد واجهنا خصما لعب بشكل جيد للغاية، دافعوا بشكل جيد، وبشكل عام لم نخلق العديد من الفرص الواضحة”.

Nottingham Forest have a lot of work to do during the summer if they’re actually serious about at least getting into the play-offs. Surely they have to be, right? This kind of miserable stagnation just can’t go on much longer, or an Ipswich situation may indeed be on the cards. 

Dramatic, perhaps, but the current state of play just cannot be the long-term strategy.

Indeed, having spent a good sum of money last summer, only to finish ninth, better recruitment needs to be conducted during this window if they’re to return to the top flight. Clearly, fans are really hoping that Martin O’Neill can prove he just had a shaky start as manager, rectifying by impressing this season.

So, with the right budget, there is faith in the team and the manager that great things can happen this season.

One player linked with Nottingham Forest who would be a tremendous coup is Callum O’Dowda, especially as he could replace the outgoing Diogo Goncalves.

O’Dowda, (who is valued at £1.8 million on Transfermarkt) has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest among other Championship sides this summer after a good season for Bristol City. Martin O’Neill is said to be keen on recruiting a goalscoring midfielder, something O’Dowda definitely is considering he has four goals and five assists to his name this season.

Goals throughout the team can’t be a bad thing, right? Lewis Grabban certainly needs the help.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old himself is keen on a move to a bigger club, which Forest tick the box of being, given their rich history and determination to get back into the Premier League. So all things considered, it seems to be a move that would work out brilliantly for all involved and the potential to have Callum O’Dowda, Joao Carvalho and Joe Lolley in midfield screams of promotion back to the Premier League.

تقرير الشوط الأول

حكم المباراة احتسب مُبكرًا ركلة جزاء، مشكوك في صحتها، بعد لمسة يد على ناتشو في منطقة الجزاء، وعلى الرغم من أنّ الكرة لمست كتف المدافع الإسباني، ولكن الحكم لم يعود لتقنية الفيديو واحتسب الركلة في الدقيقة الثالثة.

وانبرى لوكاس بيريز لـ ركلة الجزاء، وسددها بنجاح في الدقيقة الخامسة، على يمين الحارس البلجيكي تيبو كورتوا.

وفي الدقيقة 19، سدد إيدين هازارد، تسديدة قوية على المرمى، تصدى لها الحارس باشيكو، ثم سقط البلجيكي في منطقة الجزاء، بعد تدخل من مدافع ألافيس، ولكن حكم المباراة لم يشير إلى شيء.

وفي الدقيقة 23، تصدى البلجيكي، تيبو كورتوا، لانفراد تام بطريقة مُذهلة، ليُبقى على حظوظ فريقه قائمة في المباراة.

وفي الدقيقة 28 لم يتمكن هازارد من استكمال المباراة وتم استبداله وشارك زميله رودريجو بديلاً له.

 وفي الدقيقة 38، واصل حارس ألافيس، تألقه في المباراة، وتصدى لتسديدة من انفراد على مرتين من النجم الألماني، توني كروس.

وفي الدقيقة 45+1، سقط مارسيلو في منطقة جزاء ألافيس، بعد جذب لمدافع الضيوف للبرازيلي من شعر، ولكن حكم المباراة رفض احتساب شيء.

تقرير الشوط الثاني

مع بداية الشوط الثاني، تمكن الإسباني خوسيلو من إحراز الهدف الثاني لـ ديبورتيفو ألافيس، في الدقيقة 49، بعد خطأ فادح من حارس مرمى ريال مدريد، إذ تلقى كورتوا تمريرة من فاران وأعادها مرة أخرى لـ فاران، ولكن المهاجم خوسيلو كان أسرع وخطف الكرة وسددها بقوة في المرمى الخالي.

وفي الدقيقة 63، تصدى كورتوا لـ انفراد تام من مهاجم ألافيس، بطريقة رائعة.

ورفضت الكرة أنّ تدخل المرمى في الدقيقة 82، بعد رأسية من ماريانو دياز، ولكن مدافع ألافيس يبعد الكرة من على خط المرمى.

وفي الدقيقة 85، سجّل البرازيلي كاسيميرو، هدف تقليص الفارق لـ ريال مدريد، بعد ركينة من الجهة اليسرى وصلت لـ فينسيسوس سددها تصدى لها الحارس باتشيكو ارتدت وصلت ل كاسيميرو سددها في المرمى.

وفي الدقيقة 95، وقفت العارضة أمام ريال مدريد وإيسكو وحرمت الملكي من هدف التعادل، بعد تسديدة صاروخية من صانع الألعاب الإسباني.

Arsenal fans have been left angered and appalled by the club’s powerbrokers after Managing Director Vinai Vekatesham and Director of Football Raul Sanllehi sent out a rallying cry to the Gunners’ staff in the wake of the demoralising defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League final.

Unable to halt the effervescent Eden Hazard, Arsenal were torn asunder as the Belgian added a brace to second-half strikes from Olivier Giroud and Pedro to complete the crushing 4-1 defeat in Baku.

The final disappointment comes after a brutally cataclysmic last few weeks of the season derailed an otherwise positive debut campaign for Unai Emery in north London.

The Gunners won just one of their last five Premier League matches to miss out on a top-four finish while defeat to Chelsea ensured that the club will be playing Europa League football next season.

With expensive flops eating valuable funds, a minuscule transfer budget and a lack of Champions League football, Arsenal supporters are not feeling very excited about the club’s future and many took great offence at the email which claimed there is “much to be positive about.”

وقال أونانا، في تصريح مقتضب نشره الموقع الرسمي للبطولة: “ماذا يمكنني أن أقول؟ لا أعرف ما حدث، لقد ارتكبت خطأ”.

وأضاف: “أنا مسؤول عما حدث، ليس لدي شيء آخر لكي أقوله”.

وواصل: “لم نتعادل أو نفز في مباراة اليوم بسببي، أنا أتحمل اللوم، هذا كل ما يمكنني قوله”.

Clearly, David De Gea has been a stalwart for Manchester United since joining the club in 2011, winning four Player of the Year Awards in his eight years. Not bad going, right? So, losing De Gea would be a near catastrophe as Manchester United already have a weak defence and, with the Spanish goalkeeper’s long-term future in doubt (Sky Sports), it would further weaken the Old Trafford club.

After setting the world alight at the mere age of 16, Gianluigi Donnarumma’s progress has stalled at AC Milan. However, with David De Gea’s contract talks stalling and a transfer looking likely this summer, Donnarumma is being linked with a move to Old Trafford, according to Corriere Della Sera via Football Italia.

Frankly, a move for the young Italian would a terrible move for the Red Devils, as Donnarumma actually proves to be weak and quite error-prone. Indeed, as big a name as he might be, he would prove an awful signing and would provide an already terrible defence with no confidence. Furthermore, after their harrowing failure’s in the transfer market in recent seasons, the club will be keen to avoid another disastrous signing.

With United struggling in multiple positions all over the pitch, the club would be stupid to spend a possible near world-record fee on Donnarumma. Undoubtedly, centre-back and centre-forward are all positions the Premier League giants require reinforcement, and whilst the club is awash with money, wasting most of their transfer budget on an error-prone goalkeeper would prove poor business.

Number two Sergio Romero has proved more often than not that he is capable to make the step-up and become number 1 goalkeeper. The Argentine international has put in solid performances in many games this season, with notable performances away to Arsenal and Chelsea in the FA Cup where Manchester United went through. At 32-years-old and already on the books at Old Trafford, Romero would represent better value than Donnarumma.

Save some money, Ed Woodward. Not everything needs millions thrown at it to fix problems, there are smarter solutions already lurking within the Theatre of Dreams.

It remains to be seen if De Gea remains at Manchester United next season. However, signing Donnarumma for the high fee he would demand would prove to be an abysmal piece of business for the club.

With the incredible success Liverpool have had after paying a world-record sum to bring Virgil van Dijk to the club, it’s little surprise rivals are now attempting to do the same and spend big-money on their own centre-backs.

Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United are considering making a move for Leicester defender Harry Maguire, with claims that the Foxes were demanding in excess of the £75m Liverpool paid for van Dijk.

Now, in an update from the Evening Standard, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have seemingly not been put off by Leicester’s huge valuation of around £90m and are hopeful of striking a deal for less than £80m.

The news was met with shock by United fans on Twitter, who felt Maguire was worth nowhere near the amount being quoted for him.

Some felt that the England international would arguably be worth less than half that, and instead suggested the club turn their attentions elsewhere and pursue a move for Napoli’s commanding centre-half Kalidou Koulibaly.

Indeed, a few supporters of the Old Trafford side even urged Solskjaer to place his faith in the club’s academy products with 21-year-old Axel Tuanzebe amongst those they wanted to be given a chance.
